CEO & Founder: Kent Fernandez

Ivy Plus CEO and Founder Kent Fernandez received admissions officer training at Harvard University’s Office of Admissions and has 13 years experience working with Harvard admissions. As a Harvard alum area chair responsible for interviewing, evaluating and ranking up to 300 applicants to Harvard each year, including over 100 that gained acceptance during his tenure, Mr. Fernandez has developed a keen understanding of and eye for application strategies that are effective and those that are not. This training and experience at one of the most selective universities in the United States and the world gives Mr. Fernandez behind-the-scenes insights into the admissions process and shapes Ivy Plus counseling and guidance.

Mr. Fernandez received his Master in Public Policy from Harvard University and his BA in English from the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to founding Ivy Plus, Mr. Fernandez held senior positions at major financial services and management consulting firms in the United States, Japan, and South Korea. Mr. Fernandez is also proud to have served in the United States Peace Corps in The Solomon Islands where he set up a computer network and performed economic analysis as a student intern.

Originally from Santa Monica, California, Mr. Fernandez now makes his home near Oslo, Norway.
